Introduction
The elevation model of the German Bundesland of Schleswig-Holstein is a digital terrain model produced from 1m data originating from the Landesamt für Vermessung und Geoinformation Schleswig-Holstein. The elevation models delivered with windPRO are available at 1m, 5m, and 20m grid resolutions. In windPRO, we provide the finest resolution data (1m), along with two versions at 5m and 20m grid resolutions to ensure the data is operational for larger areas needed in the context of wind farm analysis. These versions were resampled from the 1m resolution data. The DGM1 model is derived from LiDAR laser scans, which provide high precision with 3-4 measurement points per square meter. The data made available by EMD represents the data status of early 2025.
Dataset Overview
- Spatial Coverage: Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
- Resolution: 1m, 5m & 20m (in windPRO, with original data in 1m resolution)
- Data-type: Digital Terrain Model (DTM)
- Coordinate system
- ETRS89/UTM32 (EPSG: 25832)
- Vertical: N/A
- Version:
- Data originates from a period between 2005 to 2023 (years of the LiDAR scans).
- Data was downloaded in 2025.
- Accuracy:
- Vertical: 0.15m (in original 1m data). However, it will likely be larger in areas with forest, industry, at settlements or steep-slopes.
- Horizontal: N/A
Availability from within WindPRO
The data are available directly from within windPRO in 3 different grid resolutions. The data can be accessed from the online-services in the following objects:
- Line Object (with purpose to height contour lines)
- Elevation Grid Object
