Introduction

The Canadian Wind Turbine Database provides detailed information on the geographic locations and key technological specifications of wind turbines installed across Canada. This dataset was created through a collaboration between CanmetENERGY-Ottawa and the Centre for Applied Business Research in Energy and the Environment at the University of Alberta, under the direction of Natural Resources Canada. This dataset was created in 2021 and contains a total of 6698 existing wind turbines..

EMD is re-distributing this dataset in windPRO - and has mapped the turbine metadata against the types within the comprehensive windPRO WTG database. Of the total of 6698 existing turbines, then 6372 of turbines are mapped to the kown types within the windPRO WTG catalogue (95.13%)
