* If you have a project close to a Länder-border, then the list of available elevation datasets may also show data from nearby Länder. This is due to the fact, that that elevation datasets from individual Länder may overlap into neighbor Länder - and that the polygons used for coverage checks are not and cannot be 100% accurate. So, when you choose your elevation dataset from the list in the windPRO line-object or elevation-grid object, we recommend that you choose the one that is within the Länder borders of your project location. It could be a bit down the list, as the list is not prioritized according to geographical location.

Introduction

DGM Data in WindPRO - Site in Bavaria, near Austrian Border.

The DGM datasets are official survey data of the respective Länder they are provided for (see section "Coverage" below).

German Brandenburg Elevation Model (DGM-Brandenburg-5m). Wind turbines south of Nauen, Brandenburg. This model is based on data from Landesvermessung und Geobasisinformation Brandenburg (LGB) / © GeoBasis-DE/LGB, dl-de/by-2-0
1m, 5m and 20mn DGM's in windPRO (near Ulm, Baden-Württemberg). Source/Datenquelle: LGL, www.lgl-bw.de.

Version

Except otherwise mentioned in the individual dataset descriptions, the data available in windPRO are from 2017.

Usage Notes

  • If you have a project close to a Länder-border, then the list of available elevation datasets may also show data from nearby Länder.

Coverage

The German DGM datasets are at the moment available for the following parts of Germany:

  • Baden-Württemberg (Resolution 1m, 5m and 20m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Bavaria (Resolution 1m, 5m, 20m and 50 m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Berlin (Resolution 5m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Brandenburg (Resolution 5m and 20m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Hamburg (Resolution 5m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Hessen (Resolution 1m, 5m and 20m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Resolution 1m, 5m and 25m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Lower Saxony (Resolution 1m, 5m, 20m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Nordrhein-Westfalen (Resolution 5m) - see separate documentation page here
  • Rhineland-Palatinate (Resolution 25 m)
